FL Man Begs For Return Of Pot Bellied Pigs In Pilfered Pickup Truck

HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) - A truck and two potbellied piglets are missing from Hollywood.

The truck's owner, Charles Bourquin, said someone stole the truck from a driveway on Hollywood Boulevard while he was doing work in the yard.  The eight-month-old piglets were inside.

Bourquin, from Clewiston, admitted to CBS4's Maggie Newland that he made the error of leaving his truck in the carport with the key inside.

"Next thing I know, I come back around and my truck's gone and my stomach dropped," said Bourquin.

Bourquin says he never noticed anything strange on the street, but Jennie Scardina did. She lives down the block  and says she saw a stranger in her carport right next to her car.

When she questioned the man, she said he took off, but she went after him.

"When I see something suspicious, I follow him," she said.

She didn't find the stranger, but she did find Bourquin devastated over the loss of his truck.

"He was crying when I saw him [saying] 'they took my two little pigs'," Scardina said.

The person who took the truck likely never realized there were two piglets inside.

"One was a boy and one was a girl. They're white with little black spots. They're really cute," said Bourquin, who sells the pigs out of his truck for $100 a piece.  "I love them you know I raise them and I get attached to them."

Now he just hopes someone will find his truck..

It's a white 1996 Mazda pickup with a sign on the back that says "Potbelly Pigs" in marker.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crimestoppers (954) 493-TIPS.
