Dance Craze Is Nothing New In South Florida

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) — Arthur Murray’s memory lives on right here in South Florida. The dance studio is celebrating 100 years of teaching people how to dance.

Murray was arguably one of the first to popularize the teaching of dancing. Whether it’s the Salsa, the Rhumba or the Cha Cha, people are catching on to the dance craze.

CBS4’s Jorge Estevez and Vanessa Borge spent a few hours with an instructor at the studio in Coral Gables and did what they could to impress on the dance floor.

The studio offers classes to the public and has been operating in Coral Gables for 60 years.
