PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – A Pembroke Pines toddler has died after she fell into a lake behind a home.
Police said they received a call about 12:20 p.m. about a possible drowning in the 2200 block of NW 72nd Way.
Family members told officers that the 18 month old girl was in her backyard playing with another child. According to police spokesman Christopher Chacon-Chang, a while later the girl’s body was spotted “floating inside of a lake behind the residence by a neighbor.”
Paramedics rushed the girl to a nearby hospital where she died.
