Miramar Man Fined For Pit Bull Attack

MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – A Miramar man has been fined and his pit bull taken away from him after the dog attacked another person.

On Wednesday, Walter Roach was walking in the 8600 block of Sheraton Drive when three dogs charged him. Roach said one of the dogs, a pit bull, repeatedly tried to bite him in the neck.

The other two dogs, pit bull pups, scratched his legs but did not bite him. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital Pembroke with multiple injuries.

The dogs' owner was cited by city for having a loose dog and an animal bite with injury. He was also cited for having a derelict fence.

When the dogs' owner couldn't supply proof of rabies shots the county's Animal Services took the pit bull and placed it in quarantine for ten days.

The dogs' owner has been fined $512.
