Humane Society Worker Accused Of Having Sex With A Dog

CLEARWATER (CBSMiami) – A tip to police about a man with child porn on his computer revealed something totally unexpected—pictures of him on his cell phone getting too frisky with his girlfriend's dog.

Police got a tip that 29-year old Eric Antunes, a Tampa Bay are animal shelter worker, had child pornography on his computer. Police asked for and got permission to search it, and with what they found they charged him with 10 counts of possessing child porn.

It was when they checked his cellphone for illegal images they they got a shock. Buried inside were pictures of Antunes and his girlfriend's dog too x-rated to describe. Those photos brought an additional misdemeanor animal cruelty charge.

Police said there's no indication Artunes's girlfriend had any idea what was going on with her pit-bull mix when she was not around.

Clearwater Police spokesperson Joelle Castelli said police did not have evidence that Antunes' girlfriend, Pinellas Humane Society Medical Director Katerina Williamson was aware Antunes was taking photos of himself having sex with her pit-bull mix.

"We cannot prove that she had any knowledge of this going on," Clearwater police spokesperson  Joelle Castelli said. "My understanding is that she did not know it was happening, and we showed her pictures."

Humane Society director of development Twila Cole said Wednesday that Antunes worked at the animal shelter on a limited basis as a contract worker. His job was to take in neglected or surrendered animals and offer them for adoption.

Cole said that Antunes mainly worked in maintenance and other people were always present when he had access to animals.

"He was never on the property working unsupervised," Cole said.

Antunes is being held at the Pinellas County Jail.
