Woman Killed In Early Morning I-595 Crash

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – A Sunrise woman was killed, another person injured, in multi-vehicle crash early Thursday morning on I-595.

It happened around 4 a.m. just west of Nob Hill Road.

Florida Highway Patrol crash investigators said Wilber Saintubert, 36, was heading westbound when he lost control and slammed into the left side of vehicle driven by 20-yea old Bertha Rodriguez-Garcia.  Garcia veered to the right.  Her vehicle then overturned and she was thrown from it.   She died on the scene.

A third vehicle, described as a small dark colored SUV which will have serious front end damage, fled the scene after the crash.

"We do know there's a third vehicle involved somehow, we're just not sure how it's involved at this time," said Wysocky.

Saintubert was taken to Westside Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
