MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If you’re looking for one of the best small towns to visit in the country; you just need to take a drive to the end of the Overseas Highway.

Smithsonian magazine has named Key West as one of the best small towns in America. Key West was ranked number 16 best small town in Smithsonian’s “20 Best Small Towns In America,” in the magazine’s May issue.

Smithsonian’s goal was to find the best cultural havens where “travelers could experience what might be called enlightened good times in an unhurried, charming setting.”

Key West was described by the magazine as a “haven for creativity.”

Naples, Florida also made the list, coming in at number nine. Great Barrington, Massachusetts was ranked number one by Smithsonian magazine.
