JK Rowling Reveals Title Of First Adult Novel

LONDON (CBSMiami/AP) – Author J.K. Rowling may no longer be writing about the magical adventures of kid wizard Harry Potter but she is still writing and has released information about her first adult novel which will be called "The Casual Vacancy."

Rowling announced in February that she was working on the book and said it would be very difference from her previous material.

She said the book will be set in an English town called Pagford, where local villagers are shocked by the unexpected death of a character named Barry Fairweather.

The book published by Little, Brown & Co. will represent her first post-Potter offering.

She is credited with creating one of the most successful fictional series in history with the saga of the boy wizard.

Her new book will be sold as an e-book and also as a traditional hardback volume.

The publisher described it as "blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising."

It'll be available worldwide on September 27.
