Lauderhill Police Solve Part Of Decomposing Body Mystery

LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) - Lauderhill police have solved part of a mystery which involves a decomposing body found in a home last Friday.

Officers were called to a home in the 7300 block of NW 51st Street after a foul stench was reported wafting from one of the bedrooms. When they opened the door, they found the decomposing corpse inside, and thought they had found the renter of the room, 36-year-old Marlon Woodstock.

There was just one problem. Even though the body was badly decomposed, it turned out the body was a woman, not a man, leaving police with two mysteries; who was the woman and where was Marlon Woodstock?

On Monday, police announced that they located Woodstock over the weekend and detectives were able to interview him. It was during this time that Woodstock reportedly physically lashed out at a detective. He was arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer without violence.

Police still need help in identifying the woman whose cause of the death is still unknown at this time. Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493 TIPS.
