Three Hurt In Hollywood Pile Up

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – One man was seriously injured, two others received minor injuries, in a three vehicle pile up on I-95 in Hollywood.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of the highway just south of Hollywood Boulevard, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Just after 6 a.m. 49-year old Gerald Jules, in a Nissan Quest minivan, was reportedly involved in rear end collision with a Desmond Smith's Toyota Camry.

Both drivers came to a stop and got out of their vehicles. It was then that 28-year old Terone Peart of Boynton Beach allegedly clipped Jules with his Honda and then slammed into the rear of Smith's Toyota. The force of the impact drove the Camry under the minivan.

Jules was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood in serious condition, according to the paper.

Peart and his passenger, Cheryl Gregory, reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Both Peart and Smith were cited in the crash.

The Sun-Sentinel contributed to this report.
