Foul Stench Leads To Body, Mystery In Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) - Lauderhill police have a decomposed body, a missing man, and a mystery to solve, and they're looking for help from the public.

Friday, officers were called to a home in the 7300 block of NW 51st street after a foul stench was reported wafting from one of the bedrooms. When they opened the door, they found the decomposing corpse inside, and thought they had found the renter of the room, 36 year old Marlon Woodstock.

There was just one problem. Even though the body was badly decomposed, it turned out the body was a woman, not a man, leaving police with two mysteries; who is the decomposed woman, and where is Marlon Woodstock?

Police said Woodstock, who is 6'2" and weighs between 170 and 190 pounds, is black and of Jamaican descent. They said he has a medical condition for which he needs medication. They also said he he has been known to hang out at Ft. Lauderdale Beach.

Police don't know who the woman found in his room is, or what she died of. The Broward Medical Examiner's office is working on that part of the mystery.

However, investigators are asking anyone who might have information, or who might know where Woodstock can be found, to call Broward Crime Stoppers qt 954-493 TIPS.
