LONDON (CBSMiami/AP) – Britain’s young royals have now been immortalized in wax as Kate joined husband Prince William at Madame Tussauds.
The wax museum unveiled replicas of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Wednesday in its London, Amsterdam and New York locations, ahead of the couple’s first wedding anniversary later this month.
Each of the three “Kate” figures wears a dress from her first fashionable year as a member of the royal family.
In New York, she’s dressed in an authorized replica of the lavender Alexander McQueen gown the duchess wore to the BAFTA Brits to Watch gala in Los Angeles last July.
On her hand is a “painstakingly accurate” recreation of her diamond and sapphire engagement ring, according to a statement from Madame Tussauds.
William is dressed in a replica of the Gieves & Hawkes tuxedo he wore to that event.
At the wax museum’s London location, she wears a recreation of the blue Issa dress the former Kate Middleton donned when she and William announced their engagement in 2010.
In Amsterdam, she’ll wear the black lace Alice Temperley gown Kate wore to the London premiere of “War Horse” in January.
A fourth replica of the couple will debut at Madame Tussauds’ location in Blackstone, England, on April 18. There, Kate will be dressed in the Jenny Packham gown she stepped out in for a London charity dinner that marked her and William’s first official engagement as a married couple.
Next month, the wax museum will debut a new replica of Queen Elizabeth II to mark her Diamond Jubilee. This new model will be the 23rd waxwork of the monarch, who first appeared at the London attraction in 1928.
