Fins Announce Preseason Schedule

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Baseball season is just starting in South Florida, but the NFL is still trying to grab the headlines as the Miami Dolphins revealed their 2012 preseason schedule Wednesday afternoon.

The Fins will play a familiar list of teams and all of the games will be broadcast on CBS4 again this season. CBS4 will once again be your Dolphins station this season where you will get the most Dolphins coverage anywhere.

The preseason dates haven't been locked in just yet, but the Dolphins will start the inaugural season under new head coach Joe Philbin on the weekend of August 9-11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Sun Life Stadium.

Miami and Tampa Bay will be playing in the preseason for the 12th consecutive time and the 19th time in the last 21 years. The 2012 matchup will be the first time the Fins have ever opened the preseason against the in-state foe.

The Fins will then go on the road to battle second-year quarterback sensation Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers at Bank of American Stadium on the weekend of August 16-18.

Then, in the dress rehearsal for the regular season, the Dolphins will return home to Sun Life Stadium to play the Atlanta Falcons on the weekend of August 23-25. The game will be a return for Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Nolan who left the Dolphins during the offseason.

The final preseason game for the Fins will be played at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas against the Cowboys on the weekend of August 29-30.

The Dolphins said season tickets are currently on sale starting at $34 per seat, per game. Fins fans who buy season tickets will be given the top access to seats and other membership benefits, the Dolphins said.

The Fins also declared April Fin Member Appreciation Month. The team said any new or existing member will be eligible for prizes including Super Bowl tickets.
