Nadal Withdraws From Sony Ericsson
KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (CBSMiami) – If you were hoping to catch a glimpse of Rafael Nadal in the semifinals of the Sony Ericsson Open, better luck next year.
Nadal withdrew from the Ericsson's semifinals just two hours before the scheduled start of his match. Nadal cited a left knee injury that has been bothering him in recent matches as the reason why he pulled out.
Nadal took a medical timeout for treatment on his knee during the fourth-round of the Ericsson and said after the match he wasn't in perfect health. Nadal has never won the championship at Key Biscayne.
In his place will be 2009 champion Andy Murray, who advanced to Sunday's final. He will play the winner of Friday night's match between top-seeded Novak Djokovic and number 21 seed Juan Monaco.
