One Person Injured In Miami Police-Involved Shooting
South Florida Crime
MIAMI (CBS4) – An alleged armed robber is in stable condition at the hospital after Miami Police say they were forced to shoot him.
Miami Police Officer Kenia Reyes told CBS4’s Maggie Newland that tactical robbery unit officers were near the scene at 7734 NW 5th Court Monday night and saw a man that fit the description of an armed robber wanted for a recent crime in the area.
Despite their commands to stop, police say the suspect jumped off of the bike he was riding and tried to jump a fence. Why the officers opened fire is still under investigation, but Ofc. Reyes said the suspect was armed with a weapon.
The injured suspect was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. His name has not been released.
The shooting is under investigation.
