"Endangered" Pines Man Found Safe

Pembroke Pines (CBSMiami) – A missing 20-year old Pembroke Pines man who suffers from multiple illnesses was found safe in a Palm Beach park.

Phillip Lane, who has Aspergers syndrome, schizophrenia and a bipolar disorder, was last seen Wednesday around 10 a.m. in the kitchen of his home located at 101 SW 65th Way. Lane has the mental capacity of a child. While his illnesses cause him to mimic the behavior of those he encounters, he has never displayed violent behavior.

Pembroke Pines police said Lane was considered endangered because he moved to the city area two months ago and is unfamiliar with the region.

Jerome Black, a minister in West Palm Beach, was visiting with transients at Currie Park when he recognized Lane from the news. Jerome immediately called the West Palm Beach Police Department which helped return Lane to his family in Pembroke Pines.
