April Brings Free Shots To Dogs And Cats

MEDLEY (CBSMiami) – Dog and cat owners searching for vaccinations will experience economic relief throughout the month of April.

Miami-Dade Animal Services will be offering free DHPP, rabies, and FVRCP vaccinations to dogs and cats during the month of April courtesy of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Come the first of the month, Fido and your feline will be eligible for free vaccinations that will be distributed at the Animal Services Department located at 7401 N.W. 74th Street in Medley.

The vaccinations will be administered Monday thru Friday from 10:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday thru Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

"Protecting the health of our community's pets is an important step towards preventing disease within our shelter," said Alex Muñoz, the director of the Animal Services Department. "The Department is grateful to the ASPCA for awarding a grant making this program possible."

Animal Services receives more than 30,000 abandoned and unwanted pets each year. Their goal is to reunite lost pets with their families and to find a permanent, caring home for them.
