BSO Seeks Woman In Cemetery Purse Theft

NORTH LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – BSO investigators are seeking a woman wanted for the theft of another woman's purse while she mourned a loved one at a cemetery then stole more than 8-thousand dollars from the victim's bank account.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, an unidentified woman had her purse stolen on February 16th while she was paying respects to a deceased relative at the Star of David Cemetery, located at 7701 Bailey Road in North Lauderdale.

The victim was inside the mausoleum when her purse, on a nearby bench, was stolen.

Within two days, the suspect created a fake check which she was seen cashing at a Bay Harbor Island Bank of America.

The fraudulent check was worth $3,794 which came out of the victim's account. But she didn't stop there. The suspect also withdrew $4,500 using the victim's Florida driver license as identification.
