Police: Body Outside Aventura Mall Was Suicide Victim

AVENTURA (CBSMiami) – Aventura police have confirmed that the man whose body was found outside the Aventura Mall was the victim of a suicide.

According to CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald, a mall employee found a dead man lying in the roadway outside the Bloomingdale's department store at 1 a.m. on Monday.

The only visible injury to victim's body was a laceration on the back of his head. The victim appeared to be between 20 and 25 years old and was wearing a black t-shirt, plaid shorts, and sneakers, authorities told The Herald.

Aventura police spokesman Major Skip Washa said there was no identification, keys, money, or jewelry on the unidentified body.

Investigators have identified the man but his family has not been notified.
