Car Flips & Lands In Canal In Sweetwater

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An early morning car accident in Sweetwater left two teenagers in critical condition after the car they were traveling in ended up in a canal.

According to Sweetwater Police, a black Infiniti G35 crashed into a guardrail near the northeast corner of NW 117th Avenue and NW 25th Street. The Infiniti flipped over the guard rail and landed upside down in the canal.

A total of four 17-year-old boys were inside the car. Two of the teens were able to free themselves and call for help. The driver was pulled through a partially opened driver's side window. The fourth teen was stuck in the backseat and firefighters had to pull him out of the car.

Both of the teens who were rescued were resuscitated on scene and were taken to Kendall Regional Hospital where they are listed in critical condition.

Sweetwater Police have not released any of the victim names as of early Saturday afternoon.
