Miami-Dade Fair & Expo Opens

WEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) – The annual tradition of fun food, shows, games, attractions and rides returned Thursday with the opening of the 61st annual Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition.

The fair will open at noon on Friday and the weekends. It opens at 3 p.m. on all other weekdays.

The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition is located at the Fair Expo Center, Coral Way (SW 24th St) at 112th Ave.
Each year it attracts nearly 800,000 visitors, making it one of the largest and most successful county fairs in the entire country. It runs through April 1st.

The midway features nearly 100 thrilling rides, 170 food booths, 50 games and 50,000 student and adult exhibits and competitions. New this year is "Express Access" which gives fair goers VIP admission to rides. Each ride will have a separate line allowing pass holders to skip the regular lines.

Save the dieting for later because the food vendors are bringing back all the fair favorites including elephant ears, roasted corn, candy apples, and more.

General admission is $10 for adults and children, free for children five years of age and younger but admission is $5 on Opening Day.
