South FloriDUH Facebook Posting Lands Accused Thief In Jail

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Be careful about what you post on Facebook, it could land you jail.

Steven Mulhall, 21, of Coral Springs, learned that fact the hard way when he allegedly stole a nameplate from a judge's door and posted a picture of himself holding it on Facebook.

According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, Mulhall pried the nameplate off the door of Broward Circuit Judge Michael Orlando on Feb. 23rd.

An anonymous tip lead investigators to the Facebook page of Mulhall's girlfriend where his picture was posted holding the $40 nameplate.

Mulhall was arrested Thursday and charged with petty theft but since he violated the terms of his parole on previous petty theft convictions, its considered a felony.

He was booked into Broward County's Main Jail but has since bonded out.
