Three Men Accused Of Four County Armed Robbery Spree

MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) - Three accused armed robbers are locked up without bond and facing a slew of charges. Police say they went on a robbery rampage across Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties.

CBS4's Natalia Zea spoke with two of their victims, Kristiany Vissepo and her friend Terra Nova Sadowski.

Just over a week ago they were robbed at gunpoint at night just blocks from home. They now only walk in Miami Beach alone when the sun's still out.

"These two guys just jumped out in front of us and put guns in our faces and were like give us all your money and your bag and we won't kill you. I just handed them my purse," Sadowski told Zea.

Vissepo fought back and struggled with one of the robbers.

"I was like 'no!' And so he starts hitting me in my head and pulling my hair and finally I just threw him the purse and he left," said Vissepo.

The men got away and the robbery had them both on edge.

"I'm scared now and I could've died," said Vissepo.

They were relieved to learn Miami Beach police have arrested the three men who they say committed the crime.

Lauderhill police saw their getaway car Saturday and arrested that car's driver, Juruis Spells, 21. He quickly sold out his two buddies, Frenel Romain, 21, and Aniva Vasquez, 20. Police say they committed four armed robberies in Miami Beach alone.

After robbing the girls on February 25th, police say the men then drove nine blocks to 5th and Lenox where they robbed two women who were walking to their cars in the Publix parking garage.

Four days later the robbers came back to Miami Beach and robbed a group of French tourists as they walked to the Mirador Hotel. One of the men fired a shot but no one was hit. Just five minutes later police say they then robbed two men who just left the Delano hotel. They got away with their wallets and cell phone.

Police believe the three men are responsible for as many as 30 armed robberies throughout South Florida.

"They're younger than us! These are little kids!" gasped Vissepo.

The girls are glad they can joke now because they feel the threat is gone.

"Seriously stay in school kids or you're gonna end up like these kids..these people," laughed Vissepo.

All three suspects are being held without bond.
