"The Hunger Games" Stars Coming To S. Fla.

PLANTATION (CBSMiami) – If you're a fan of the young-adult novel "The Hunger Games,, now is your chance to see and possibly meet a few of the stars of the film who are coming to South Florida.

"The Hunger Games" stars are bringing their eight-city tour to Broward Mall on Thursday, March 8, and the mall is giving away tickets to meet them.

Jennifer Lawrence, Alexander Ludwig and Amandla Stenberg will be onstage for a live Q&A with fans from 6 to 7 p.m. The event, which includes entertainment and giveaways, is free and open to the public.

The mall is also giving away some VIP passes but you have to RSVP on the mall's Facebook page (Facebook.com/westfieldbroward).

Based on a series of novels by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games is set in the future in the fictional nation of Panem, and stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, a teen who is set to represent her district in an annual fight to the death game called The Hunger Games. The best-seller focuses on the teen girl's struggle for survival in a post-apocalyptic future.

The film opens in theaters March 23.

In addition to Lawrence, Ludwig plays Cato and Stenberg plays Rue. Other cast members include Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.
