Trump Expected To Take Over Doral Next Week
DORAL, Fla. (CBSMiami) – He's loud, obnoxious, rich and soon will be the new owner of the Doral Golf Resort in Miami. Donald Trump is inching towards taking over control of the home of the Blue Monster, but Trump is already planning a massive renovation.
According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, Trump is planning to do a large amount of work to the golf courses and to the 692-room property as soon as the $150 million sale is completed.
Additionally, Trump is expected to be in town for the Cadillac Championship at the Blue Monster in just a few weeks, according to the Herald.
Once he takes ownership, Trump is planning to pour $150 million into the renovation of the resort and wants to turn it into a luxury destination/top-notch golf resort just outside of a major city, according to the Herald.
As part of the deal, other bidders have until next Friday to outbid Trump's $150 million offer, but no new bids are expected before then. The sale will also be contingent on a settlement with Marriott, which holds a long-term management contract at the Doral, according to the Herald.
