Gas Prices Continue To Climb

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The price at the pump is steadily heading up. In the last month it’s risen more than 20 cents in Miami-Dade and Broward with shows no signs of slowing down.

In the last month the price at the pump in nationwide has jumped nationwide about 17 cents to $3.52 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded, according to   In Florida, regular unleaded has jumped 20 cents to $3.67, according to the American Automobile Association. Last year at this time, that same gallon was running around $3.15.

In Miami-Dade and Ft. Lauderdale, drivers are paying more than the state average; a regular unleaded is running $3.73 and $3.74 respectively.  Last year at this time regular unleaded gas averaged $3.18 in Ft. Lauderdale and $3.20 in Miami.

Pensacola, where unleaded regular is averaging $3.57 a gallon, is the cheapest places in the state to fill up.

West Palm Beach is the most expensive place to top off the tank; regular unleaded is averaging $3.77 a gallon.
