Rescuers, Accident Victims To Be Reunited At Coral Springs Fire Ceremony

CORAL SPRINGS (CBSMiami) - People saved by members of the Coral Springs Fire Department will have a chance to thank their rescuers at a unique event held Saturday.

Eight separate families have been invited to an awards ceremony at Coral Springs Charter School where the firefighters will be honored with their heroism, service and dedication to the community.

"It's going to be an honor for me to present these awards to our firefighters," said Coral Springs Fire Chief Mark Curran. "I am so proud of them and the work they have accomplished."
Expected to be in attendance include the family of a two month old child who was clinically dead, but was revived by firefighters, and the family of a one year old child who drowned in the family pool, but was revived and has no lasting effects of the accident.

The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m.
