Tale of Two Cities, Jersey-Style!

MIAMI (CBS4) - A Tale of Two Cities... and I'm not talking about Charles Dickens' great novel about Paris and London.

This one is a Tale of Two Cities, New Jersey-style.

One is Hoboken... a place mostly known as the birthplace of baseball and Frank Sinatra, the home of the bakery in TV's "Cake Boss," or the place across the Hudson River you escape to when you can't afford Manhattan's ridiculous apartment prices.

But Hoboken is making clear it does not want to be known as the site of a spinoff of the "The Jersey Shore."

So, for rejecting Snooki and JWoww, an Italian American group has given Hoboken's mayor an award.  It's because the group thinks anything related to the reality show gives Italian Americans a bad name.

But neighboring Jersey City doesn't care.  A city that's known for... come to think of it, I don't think Jersey City is known for anything good.

So the mayor there said, come on down and is welcoming the Jersey Shore divas to live there.  Jersey City's mayor says he believes the new reality show is an opportunity to promote the city.

I say, be careful what you wish for.  When it comes to Snooki, not all publicity is good publicity.
