More Clouds, Rain Ahead Of Weekend Cool Down

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It was a very wet and gloomy start to the weekend with heavy downpours early Friday morning but the rain will subside and cooler weather will move in by Sunday.

Some parts of South Florida picked 1 to 3 inches of rain which made the roads slick and dangerous and the rain chance remains high Friday with the potential for some more isolated flooding.

Friday's forecast calls for plenty of humidity and mostly cloudy skies with highs in the low 80s, lows in the upper 60s and a 60 percent chance of rain.

Friday night into early Saturday we could still see some showers until a strong cold front clears the Sunshine State.

The cool down begins late Saturday afternoon when highs will only climb to the low to mid 70s.

Saturday night the colder air will settle in behind the front and temperatures will drop down the 50s.

There will be a chill in the air on Sunday morning and then highs will be cool Sunday afternoon with the low 60s and a cold gusty breeze as high pressure builds in.

Monday morning will still be chilly with the 50s and highs will begin to moderate to the mild low 70s.

On Valentine's Day Tuesday, it'll be warmer with highs in the upper 70s and we'll be back in the 80s by Wednesday.
