Miami-Dade To Offer Free Spaying/Neutering

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade residents who have held off on getting their pets spayed or neutered because of the cost will be able to do so for free – if they call ahead.

On Sunday, February 19th, the county's Animal Services dept., in partnership with the Cat Network, will offer free spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats at Wild Lime Park, located at 14751 Hammocks Boulevard. This event is part of Animal Services' continued effort to bring spay and neuter services closer to the residents of South West Miami-Dade.

Cats will be spayed/neutered, de-wormed and vaccinated against rabies and FVRCP. Dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies and DHPP.

"The solution to the current overpopulation crisis is to spay and neuter pets, by doing so pets will live longer and healthier lives", said Alex Muñoz, Director, Miami-Dade Animal Services Department.

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 3-1-1.
