HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – A man who reportedly severely beat a 91-year-old Hollywood resident after he broke into his home is now locked away behind bars.

Floyd Nathan, 54, has been charged with home invasion and battery on an elderly person.

Investigators say on January 20^th, Nathan entered the home of Sidney Lee through a side door, unnoticed, while Lee’s wife was working out in the yard.

Once inside, Nathan allegedly struck Lee several times before he grabbed his wallet. Nathan then walked out of the house, as if nothing had happened, and drove away in a white Mitsubishi Gallant.

Lee was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood and was treated for non-life threading conditions. Lee’s wife was unharmed.

A tip to Crime Stoppers, a neighbor’s surveillance camera that captured Nathan on the scene and physical evidence linked Nathan to the assault and finally led to the arrest.

Nathan’s bond has been set at over half a million dollars.
