“Chili” Day At Red Hot Chili Cookoff

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – South Florida country fans donned their cut off jeans and cowboy hats and packed CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines for the 27th annual Kiss Country Chili Cookoff and Music Festival Sunday.

Twenty-five thousand people jammed into CB Smith Park for the all-day country music jam which features headliner Zac Brown Band. Other performers in the lineup are Luke Bryan, Clay Walker, Chris Cagle and Sonia Leigh.

This is the first time in the cookoff’s 27-year history that the event has been sold out. No tickets were available at the gate.

The music started around 10:00 a.m. and continues until about 6:00 p.m.

Why do none of you so called reporters say who WON the Chili Cookoff???

    1. ADMIN says:

Scott, because truth be told the cookoff is no longer the focus. The contest is in an area far away from the music, and people attending the cookoff are not even able to sample the product. The radio station’s website virtually ignores this aspect of what’s become a giant concert. The crowds were so bad I’m not sure our reporters were able to get to the area of the cookoff in the time they had to be there. One final question: Why didn’t the organizers issue a release with the winners to help people report it?
