Miami Marlins Audition Dancers For New Energy Team

MIAMI (CBS4) - They had moves worthy of the Marlins brand new energy team. But first they had to learn those moves, and then practice them over and over and over again.

Alejandra Martinez worked it, "I think I have it down... the combination and stuff."

So did Karen Moncada, "I feel it in my bones and my blood."

Also feeling it Melinda Desire. "I just hope I do really good and giving them what they want."

With practice over, it was time to shine and perform the audition dance. First the big group broke up into smaller groups for the actual audition. Each dancer had their shot with the judges.

"I feel like I did really well," said Alejandra.

"We will see what happens," was Melissa's philosophy.

According to Karen, "It is kind of nerve wracking."

This year's side line team is all about variety said Jose Guerrero the Choreographer, "A unique mix of jazz, hip hop, cheerleaders, tumbling."

Then the time came for the results. Did our performers make it? Yes. They all made the first cut.

"I am so excited, amazing, wonderful, exciting," said Karen.

Good luck to a brand new team, who just like the brand new Miami Marlins, are looking to make it big.

The final round of tryouts ends this week. In the end, the Marlins will select as many as 30 people to make the team.
