TAMARAC (CBS4) – Broward County Sheriff’s investigators hope new surveillance video will help them catch the man who attacked and robbed a woman as she got off the bus early New Year’s Eve.
Kelsey Reeser still has scars from the attack. She says she was heading home from work just after midnight December 31st. She got off the bus near the 6100 block of N. University Drive in Tamarac.
“Out of nowhere someone came and slammed me from behind as hard as possible,” she recounted. “My face broke my fall, my hand went down, and my knee dislocated at the same time.”
She says the attacker wasn’t finished with her yet.
“When I got up my glasses got stomped on and I got punched in the forehead and he kept screaming ‘give me your stuff’ but with more expletives,” she continued. She says the attacker stole her wallet, ID, and brand new tablet computer.
Weeks later her attacker is still out there. Now investigators hope surveillance video will help them catch the attacker. Deputies say the man who attacked Kelsey was on riding the same bus she was.
Keyla Concepcion of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said, “We strongly believe anyone who knows this man will be able to identify him and we’re hoping they call our detectives and give him his name.”
“Please think of it if I was your daughter or your child or sister or girlfriend and think would you want this person out on the loose knowing that he’s done that,” Kelsey begged, adding, “We want to make him pay. We want to make him know what it’s like to hurt this much. It’s terrifying.”
