FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Residents of one Ft. Lauderdale neighborhood which borders Intracoastal Waterway have been asked to avoid fishing, jetskiing or swimming in any of the waterways because of a sewage contamination.

The city, along with the county’s Health Department, issued the advisory after a leak in a sewage pipe was discovered.

The area affected runs from NE 30 Street south to NE 22nd Street and from Bayview Drive to the Intracoastal.

Monday afternoon they city said the broken sewer line has been isolated and crews were making repairs.
