Two Women, Baby Found Dead In Lauderdale Lakes Apartment

LAUDERDALE LAKES (CBSMiami) – Three people including a baby were found dead inside a gated Lauderdale Lakes apartment complex.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Dani Moschella said early Sunday morning an acquaintance of the woman who lived in the apartment, located in the 2700 block of Somerset Drive, dropped by to check in on her.

"As soon as he walked into the apartment he knew something was amiss and called BSO immediately," said Moschella.

Once they received a warrant to enter the apartment, officers found the bodies of two adult women and an infant male lying in pools of blood.  The sheriff's office has not said how they died.   Moschella confirmed a second baby boy who was in the apartment was not harmed.

"We know that something terrible happened in this apartment but we don't know exactly what," said Moschella.

Those who live at the Somerset Apartments said news of the murder was scary.

"It hits close to home because you would think something like that wouldn't go down here," said Joseph Vertil.

A woman who lives in the building said five people lived in the apartment.  She said the woman who lived there had two sons.  An apartment below the one where the bodies were found had to be evacuated because blood was seeping into it from above.

Moschella said they were looking for a suspect, but did not give their name or a description of that person.
