NEW YORK (CBS) — Grammy Award-winning artists Beyonce and Jay-Z have a new prize: A baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, reports CBS Station WCBS.
The New York Daily News reports that the singer gave birth late Saturday, after checking in to a Manhattan hospital under the name “Ingrid Jackson.”
Music mogul Russell Simmons tweeted the good news and “congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z.”
A very pregnant Beyonce had checked into the upper East Side hospital on Friday night under the name “Ingrid Jackson,” a hospital staffer told the Daily News.
Beyonce, 30, and her husband were reported to have rented out an entire floor of Lenox Hill Hospital. The Daily News also reports that security cameras were taped over and hospital staffers were required to hand in their cell phones, to prevent the leak of images.
