Hialeah Man Rushed To Hospital After Pistol Whipping

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) -  Hialeah Police are looking for a suspect who pistol whipped a man, sending him to the hospital.

Police say two men were fighting outside a market at the corner of West 12th Avenue and 29th Street when one pistol whipped the other. The gun went off and the bullet hit the window of a nearby market.

"Fortunately no one inside the market was injured but it did travel through the glass causing it to shatter people inside were nervous but fortunately, no one was injured," said Hialeah Det. Eddie Rodriguez.

Police say the victim is stable in the hospital. He has not been identified. Police say they suspect knew the victim and fled the scene with the gun.

Police describe the suspect as a latin man between the ages of 40 and 50 driving  a black SUV possibly an Ford Expedition or a Lincoln Navigator.
