Reward Offered For Gold Exchange Bandits

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – A one thousand dollar reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of three people who robbed a Sunrise jewelry store last month.

According to police, three males, one of whom had a handgun, walked into the Riojas Gold Exchange, in the 2600 block of N University Drive, just after 9:30 a.m. On the surveillance tape, one of the subject immediately goes to surveillance camera near a front window and pulls it down. A second one can be seen trying to steal a bracelet or watch off a seated woman's wrist. The third male, the one with the gun, then knocked over the second security camera as he made his way to the back of the store.

After completing the robbery, all three subjects ran out of the back door of the business. For some reason, they left their get-away-car, a 2010 silver Dodge Charger in the alley with the engine running. It was determined that the car was reported stolen from Lauderhill. An extensive search of the area was conducted but police came up empty.

Anyone with information on the trio is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
