Report: Fins Interested In Jets' Defensive Coordinator

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – While the Dolphins' season ended on a victory, a report out of New York Monday could give Dolphins' fans plenty to fear as the team ramps up its search for a new head coach.

According to the New York Daily News, the Dolphins have some level of interest in New York Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine for the vacant head coaching position.

The Jets defense was a sieve in 2011 compared to what it had been in the last few seasons. The Jets gave up at least 30 points five times in 2011.

In addition to Pettine, the Dolphins have been linked to Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

The Jets' offense was not much better than the defense and Schottenheimer's development of Mark Sanchez has been a complete failure for the Jets.
