Qualifying Period Begins For Three Broward Cities

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Residents of three Broward cities wanting to throw their hats in the ring to be the next mayor or city commissioner can do so this week.

Qualifying for the March 13th municipal elections in Davie, Lazy Lake and Sea Ranch Lakes begins Tuesday, January 3rd, at noon. It ends at noon on Tuesday, January 10th.

Fort Lauderdale will also be holding a general election on March 13th, but have scheduled their primary election for January 31 to coincide with the state’s primary, according to The Sun-Sentinel.

Several other cities have done the same. Pembroke Pines, Pompano Beach, Parkland, Lighthouse Point, Hillsboro Beach and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea will also hold primary elections for January 31st to save money.
