Lauderhill Shooting Labeled "Murder/Suicide"

LAUDERHILL (CBS4) – Lauderhill police have determined that a double shooting Wednesday evening in which a man and woman were killed was a murder/suicide.

According to police, 52-year old Paul Freeman and 34-year old Tonia Patterson had gotten into a fight in the unit of a four bedroom boarding home in the 3300 block of NW 17th Street.  Around 6:15 p.m. other tenants of the home called police after they heard gunshots.

When officers arrived they found the bodies of Patterson and Freeman inside the unit and a small caliber handgun.  Police say Freeman shot Patterson before turning the gun on himself.

It is unknown what the argument was over.
