Wanted: Man Who Attempted To Sexually Assault Teen Girl

WEST PARK (CBSMiami) – The Broward Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of a man wanted for the attempted sexual battery of a 16-year-old girl in West Park.

According to detectives in the BSO Special Victims Unit, the attack took place on October 20th. It was around 9:10 p.m. when the teenage girl was walking home in the 4700 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard when the man approached her from behind, placed her in a choke hold and dragged her to some nearby warehouses.

The suspect threw the girl on the ground and hit her. The victim began to scream, so the suspect grabbed her by the hair and started to hit her head on the ground. The victim continued screaming, which caused the suspect to run away, according to BSO.

The girl told deputies she remembered seeing the suspect a few weeks prior to the incident at a nearby convenience store. She says the man accused her of owing him money for crack, but she claims she's not a drug user and has never met the man before.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this incident is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or visit www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
