Marlins Job Fair Looks To Fill 2,000 Positions

MIAMI (CBS4) -  The Miami Marlins are hosting a Job Fair this week in hopes filling more than 2,000 positions to work at their new home in Little Havana.

The job fair will be held on Tuesday, November 15th and Wednesday, November 16th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium located at 2901 West Flagler Street in Miami.

More than a thousand potential employees were lined up before noon for their shot.

So what kind of job was Tony Carrington looking for?

"Anything I can get," said Carrington. "It's real hard, you can't find a job anywhere.  I've been to plenty of job fairs and have yet to get a job."

Positions available from the Marlins include customer service, sales, grounds, guest services, security, ticket operations, finance and retail operations.

"We have full time positions and part time positions," said Marlins spokeswoman Carolina Perrina-de Diego.  "We have some temporary positions, we have some game day positions.  The job fair will continue on tomorrow.  If they can't make it they can go on our website, grab information there where they can contact our Human Resources Department and send their resumes."

The Marlins organization partners Johnson Controls, Contemporary Services Corporation along with Levy and Pritchard will be looking to fill positions in maintenance, concessions, janitorial and event services.

Those attending the job fair are asked to wear business professional attire and be sure to bring several resume copies.
