UCF Ath. Director Resigns Amidst NCAA Scandal

ORLANDO, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – University of Central Florida athletic director Keith Tribble resigned Wednesday as allegations of recruiting impropriety that has drawn the ire of the NCAA.

The school received a notice of allegations from the NCAA Wednesday that stated that Tribble and other athletic department employees were involved with agent runners for more than two y ears.

The NCAA said a total of eleven players were involved in recruiting violations, but UCF president John Hitt told the Orlando Sentinel that only one player ever suited up for UCF.

In addition to Tribble's resignation, the school also announced the resignation of wide receivers coach David Kelly. He's also been implicated in the recruiting problems surrounding the school.

Complicating matters for the Knights is that the football program has been sanctioned before for recruiting violations, meaning the school is a repeat violator in the eyes of the NCAA.

The news also overshadows the school's expected move to the Big East Conference which is expected to happen this week, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
