Adopt-A-Family Program Easier With Online Adoption Feature

MIAMI (CBS4)- For more than two decades, the Neighbors 4 Neighbors Adopt-A-Family 4 the Holidays program has served hundreds of thousands of families, and this year it’s easier than ever to adopt. That’s because it’s all online.

Those wanting to assist can register as an individual, group or organization, review local families in need that have been submitted by social service agencies and adopt by clicking here.

Sadly, there are many more families in need than resources to help. Monetary donations are also accepted in any amount to help Neighbors 4 Neighbors purchase gift cards for families not matched directly with adopters. Click here to make a donation.

Last year, CBS 4 reported that individuals, groups and even local businesses, like Baptist Medical Plazas, got involved which resulted in record high numbers for the year’s program. More than 2,300 families were adopted during the 2010-2011 holiday season.

Others donated gift cards and toys, which brought this year’s totals to a whopping 2,500 toys and more than $22,000 in gift cards.

Food and toy drives are also needed. You will find information about how you can help on our website, or you can email, Neighbors 4 Neighbors, Executive Director, Lynne Cameron directly at

My sister BETTY DEAN BULLARD is mentally ill & she needs help to get her kitchen restored. She needs a stove, refrigerator, cabinets for the kitchen, and a a/c unit. I’m struggling to pay my own bills, so it’s very hard for me to help her now. PLEASE HELP MY SISTER FOR THE HOLIDAYS! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Day!!!
    Sincerely, Delores Powell
