Search Continues For Missing N. Miami 11-Year-Old

NORTH MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – North Miami Police have asked for the public's help as they continue to search for an 11-year-old boy who went missing Thursday.

According to North Miami Police, Ishmyel Jean was "disciplined by his mother for getting into trouble at school" on Thursday and was allowed to walk to his grandmother's house one block away at the 1100 clock of NW 126 Street.

But, police said Ishmyel never made it to his grandmother's house.

After an extensive search of the neighborhood, which included all known friends and classmates of Ishmyel,  Ishmyel  was not located.

North Miami Police said that investigators are looking into possible foul play involving the his disappearance.

Police have started to target vacant houses in the neighborhood.

"If he's scared and hiding, we're searching everywhere we can find and we're trying to get a list of those houses now," said Detective Felix Guadarrama.
