North Miami Police Looking For Missing 11-Year-Old

NORTH MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – North Miami Police have asked for the public's help as they continue to search for an 11-year-old boy who went missing Thursday.

CBS4's Maggie Newland went to the scene and was told by North Miami Police that the boy, Ishmyel Jean, had been involved in an argument at home and was walking to his grandmother's house.

But, police said Ishmyel never made it to his grandmother's house. North Miami Police said they don't believe any foul play was involved, but are still actively searching for the boy.

Police have started to target vacant houses in the neighborhood.

"If he's scared and hiding, we're searching everywhere we can find and we're trying to get a list of those houses now," said Detective Felix Guadarrama.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Ishmyel, contact North Miami Police at (305) 891-0294.
