Miami Marlins Caps Hit Shelves Before 11/11 Debut

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Miami Marlins won't reveal their new logo until November 11, but apparently some stores have started selling hats with the purported new Marlins logo on it already.

According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald's George Richards, he was in Buffalo for a Panthers versus Sabers game and came across the new hat for sale at a "very reputable store."

According to the photos Richards published on his Herald blog  (which may have been removed), the recently leaked Miami Marlins logo is the one the team will be using starting next season.

The logo from the cap has almost the exact same color scheme as the Miami Dolphins. The main difference is that the Marlins logo will have a darker teal than the Dolphins logo, based on the images Richards published. The logo also resembles an inverted Whataburger logo.

The hat has the official logo from Major League Baseball and is made by New Era, who makes hats for Major League Baseball.

The Marlins are set to officially debut their new uniform, hats, and logo on November 11th.

The team will also have a new stadium creation for home runs that, along with the new logo, has turned off many hardcore Marlins fans.
