3 Adults, 1 Child Shot At Miami Gardens Park

MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) - An 11 year old boy was among 4 people shot at a Miami Gardens park Wednesday evening.

Miami Gardens Police say someone opened fire into Bunche Park on the 16-thousand block of Bunche Park School Drive just after 7 p.m.

Police say the shots were fired from outside of the park and the child was not the intended target. Police say three adults in the park were also shot.  Police say none has life threatening injuries.

Witnesses tell CBS4′s Maggie Newland that a youth football practice was taking place at the time of the shooting.

Nequa Johnson rushed to the park after hearing a child was shot.  Her 6 year old son was playing football.

"I was trembling i was shaking i'm still shaking right now," she said.

Her friend Ashley, who asked us not to use her last name, was at the park and heard gunshots.

"Bullets were flying everywhere," she said, "Even though it wasn't my child, it could have been my child and I felt so bad."

All four victims were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital.  A relative of the 11 year old child said he's expected to be OK.

Police are looking for a black Chevy Impala seen in the area at the time of the shooting and ask anyone with information to call Miami Gardens Police or Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
